Last night I released mayronui.com and have been working on transferring all the scattered documentation across the internet for MayronUI so that it could finally have a centralised place to live (i.e. this brand-new website!). I am incredibly happy to finally be able to release this and no doubt I will be making lots of changes to the site going forward.
Apart from the clear benefits of having a centralised home for all resources and to promote the UI, discord community and various other links, the secondary goal is to provide more useful resources for future projects. I hope to write more blog articles aimed around World of Warcraft addon development, which will then be accompanied by YouTube videos and embedded as part of the blog material. A major obstacle for me while making the old “WoW AddOn Dev” series was that I wanted to add as much detail as possible, but this adds to very lengthy videos and takes much longer to develop. After cross-referencing all the feedback, I received it became clear that many viewers were more experienced than the target audience I was aiming for. This led to the idea that I could add a lot more details to the blog content and keep the videos shorter, which will be the plan for future videos currently in production.
I hope to promote the website so that we have more users joining our wonderful discord community in the hopes of improving collaboration and discussion. The community originally started as a place for people to ask for help with MayronUI but it has slowly been merged with the subscriber base from my YouTube channel. This has attracted a new demographic of users onto the server who want to learn how to make WoW addons. Therefore, the goal is to grow the community to improve the quality of collaboration and to best reach those who need help.
Thank you for reading and I hope you like my new website 😊
